The 50k / 31.1 mile takes place on April 12th at 8:30AM at Peninsula Campground, is an out and back beyond Acorn Creek Parking Lot and has 3407ft of total climbing. All of it is runnable on a mix of single track and double wide trails with one big climb in the middle.

The 50 mile takes place on April 12th at 6:00AM at Peninsula Campground, is an out and back to Magnolia Ranch and has 6100ft of total climbing with a fair bit of rolling hills in the middle. All of it is runnable on a mix of single track and double wide ranch trails.
PLACER TRAIL RUNNING FESTIVAL 50K is now OUTLANDS 50K & 50M
In 2025, the 50K race at Peninsula Campground has been spun off into its own event, the Outlands 50K & 50M, taking place on April 12th. The Placer Trail Running Festival will still return on May 17th at Granite Beach in Granite Bay, CA, featuring the 25K, 10K, 5K, and 5K Canicross races, but no longer includes the 50K distance in 2025. These updates allow each event to offer a more tailored and exciting experience for runners.
